Kimberly Stewart-Lucas, Training and Resource Coordinator at Positive Childhood Alliance Georgia, takes great pride in serving as a bridge that helps people, organizations and resources come together to strengthen families and communities across the state.
When did you join the School of Public Health, and what do you enjoy about working here?
I joined PCA Georgia, which is a unit of the Mark Chaffin Centers for Healthy Development, in October 2021. What I enjoy most about my role is the opportunity to connect Georgians with the resources they need and to support community-based organizations through training and collaboration. The work we do is deeply rooted in community, and especially during challenging times, we must show up for one another. I take great pride in serving as a bridge, helping people, organizations and resources come together to strengthen families and communities across Georgia.
What’s a typical workday for you like?
No two days are the same, which is one of the things I enjoy most about my work. My days often include participating in community meetings, answering calls and connecting individuals and families to resources through the Find Help Georgia Helpline, and collaborating with partners on various task forces. I’m also involved in coordinating efforts for our annual conference each September and working closely with my incredible team to ensure our community stakeholders have the training, resources and support they need.
What about your work are you most proud of?
I’m most proud to show up as my authentic self in the work I do. I bring my passion, perspective and energy to the table, and I feel valued and heard when sharing my ideas and insights. Being able to contribute in a way that feels genuine while helping support communities across Georgia is something I truly appreciate.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
Outside of work, I enjoy curating art exhibits, organizing DJ competitions and hosting women’s wellness gatherings that bring people together through creativity and connection. I also love music and can often be found singing on one of my many portable karaoke machines!
