Why did you choose to major in public health?
I chose public health as my major because I felt that this would allow me to focus on population health instead of individual health as a future healthcare provider. I wanted to invest my time into learning more about the overall health of populations and what goes into the health outcomes ofindividuals.
What has been your favorite public health class at Georgia State, and why?
My favorite public health class was probably “Health Equity & Disparities.” The course was taught by an amazing professor, Dr. Amstrong-Mensah, and was extremely engaging.
Tell us about your campus involvement?
I am a part of several student organizations on campus, including Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. I also spend a large portion of my time working in the Student Center.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
Get Involved! Use the Panther Involvement Network to your advantage and sign up for different organizations on campus. Make sure you network with different leaders and individuals. College is what you make it!
What’s your career aspiration?
I aspire to become a Registered Nurse and work in either obstetrics and gynecology, labor and delivery, or pediatrics. I aspire to ensure that there are changes in maternal health for underserved populations.
