The Georgia State University School of Public Health’s MeTa (Meet and Talk) Series will host its 10th social mixer on March 9. The event includes games, free food, networking and breakout sessions with leaders from the public health community.
The MeTa Series was created in 2018 by Elizabeth Armstrong-Mensah, Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Behavioral Sciences, in response to then-dean Michael Eriksen’s desire for the creation of an environment within the School of Public Health where students and faculty can interact outside the classroom.
MeTa Series 10 will be held in-person at 4:30 p.m. in the West Exhibit Area of the Urban Life Building. It is free and open to the School of Public Health students, faculty, staff and alumni, but registration is required. Attending the pre-event student poster session at 4 p.m. increases one’s chances of winning a prize during the energizer session.
The social mixer brings students, faculty, staff and alums together every semester to get to know one another and to network. Armstrong-Mensah is assisted by a committee of students, faculty and staff to plan MeTa Series events.
“Come and have a great time!” Armstrong-Mensah said. “See you there.”
