CLARKSTON, Ga.—Georgia State University’s Military Outreach Center on the Clarkston Campus will host a reading on Sept. 7 of the names of the 431 first responders who died after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York and the 221 Georgia military members who were killed in the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The reading begins at 9 a.m. on the Clarkston Campus Student Center, Room 2220.
“Since the terror attacks of 9/11/2001, the United States has been engaged in a global war on terror,” said Mark Eister, director of the Military Outreach Center. “Even today, we continue to see and experience the consequences of that attack. Lest we suffer that same fate again, we must remember those who died that day, as well as those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the ongoing fight against terror.”
Georgia State faculty and staff, student military veterans and David Snow, University System of Georgia military affairs director will participate in the reading. For information, contact Mark Eister at [email protected].
The community is invited.
