
Dr. Dawn Aycock, associate professor of nursing, spoke to the Fall 2019 Ph.D. candidates and their families at the Georgia State university hooding ceremony. Aycock, who is the program director of the nursing Ph.D. program, encouraged the graduates to go on the Georgia State "DIET" -- diversity, innovation, excellence and teaching.
Aycock is an accomplished researcher on stroke research in young African Americans. University president Dr. Mark Becker complimented her for giving one of the best graduation speeches he has heard in a long time.
Aycock gave the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research (FNINR) in October as well as the Lewis College spring graduate commencement. More about Dr. Aycock and her research here.
