DECATUR, Ga.—Georgia State University Perimeter College will host its spring commencement ceremony at the Georgia State Convocation Center on Thursday, May 7 at 1 p.m.
Perimeter's ceremony will be held in conjunction with graduates from Georgia State’s College of Education & Human Development, Institute for Biomedical Sciences and School of Public Health. Perimeter will recognize approximately 905 candidates who will receive their associate degree from one of the state’s largest two-year colleges. The number of graduates in spring 2025 was 775.
Barbara Johnson, Ph.D., dean of Perimeter College, stated, "I’m incredibly happy for Class of 2026. It takes considerable commitment to complete this goal.
“There’s no greater joy than celebrating the hard work of our graduates along with their friends and families.
“On behalf of the entire college, I extend congratulations to the class of ’26 and wish them continued success as they pursue other degrees or go directly into the workforce.”
Perimeter College offers more than 30 academic pathways leading to an associate of arts or associate of science degree. Business administration, health science professions, computer science, nursing, psychology and dental hygiene are among the top picks for students.
Forty percent of Perimeter’s spring class of 2026 are the first in their families to graduate from college. Three hundred and twenty students are graduating with honors and 25 are dual enrollment students. The youngest graduates this commencement are 17 years old, and the oldest graduate is 75. In addition, all 31 of Perimeter's dental hygiene students graduating this spring achieved a 100% pass rate on the manikin component of their clinical exam. This marks the first 100% first-attempt pass rate since the Classes of 2022 and 2015.
Georgia State President M. Brian Blake, Dr. Nicolle Parsons-Pollard, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Allison Calhoun-Brown, senior vice president of student success and Dr. Michael Sanseviro, vice president for student engagement, are among the university leaders who, along with Dean Johnson, will celebrate Perimeter’s spring graduates during the May ceremony.
