First established in 2012, the International Education Awards were expanded in 2018 to include the endowed Sheth awards. The Sheth awards recognize a Georgia State faculty member and an international alumnus who have made exceptional international contributions. The selection committees are composed of individuals from across the university, including past recipients, who reviewed the nominations and decided the award winners. Awards are bestowed during the International Honorary Reception which coincides with International Education Week; 2025 marks the 26th anniversary of International Education Week at Georgia State. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and the public are invited to enjoy globally focused events all week long. Nomination applications for next year’s International Education Awards will reopen in the spring of 2026.
