ATLANTA — Laura Deupree has joined the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies as senior director of marketing and communications. She fills a new leadership role created to advance the college’s strategic plan priorities of enhancing visibility, expanding engagement and strengthening the brand across its several constituencies.
“Laura is known for her strategic approach to communications and her talent for engaging a variety of critical audiences,” Dean Thomas J. Vicino said. “She will play a key role in promoting our exceptional research and faculty, our new digital-first enrollment marketing strategy and our students’ achievements while fostering connections with our alumni, donors and community stakeholders. We are thrilled she is adding her expertise to our college.”
Deupree will lead efforts across the Andrew Young School’s academic units, research centers, institutes and labs to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the college’s mission and strategic goals. She will oversee brand management, media relations and digital marketing as well as internal and external communications, ensuring a consistent and impactful presence across all communications platforms.
“This position represents a significant step in advancing the Andrew Young School’s strategic priorities,” Vicino said. “Laura will ensure that our research, programs and thought leadership are effectively communicated to all key local, national and global stakeholders.”
Recognized for her ability to build high-performing teams and foster collaboration, Deupree has more than a dozen years of leadership experience in strategic marketing, brand management and community engagement. She came to Georgia State from the Community Assistance Center in Sandy Springs, Ga., where, as marketing and communications director, she drove a 37-percent increase in organizational growth in 2023.
Deupree has held marketing and communications positions at nonprofit organizations including the Dunwoody Nature Center and the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, as well as at corporations such as OfficeZilla and Workout Anytime Franchising Systems. She holds a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Central Florida and has completed coursework in peace studies and conflict resolution at Kennesaw State University.
