ATLANTA — In celebration of National Inventors’ Day, Georgia State hosted its first-ever recognition ceremony to honor contributions made by the university’s inventors and innovators. The event recognized members of the research community who exemplify the spirit of innovation and whose groundbreaking work has resulted in invention disclosures, patenting and commercializing intellectual property.
At the Feb. 10 event, 27 researchers were recognized for their innovative accomplishments. Many of the awardees have taken their ideas to the next level by sharing details of new inventions, with some advancing to U.S. patents and commercialization.
“I am honored to celebrate the achievements of our faculty members who push the boundaries of knowledge through creativity and ingenuity,” said Donald Hamelberg, interim vice president for Research and Economic Development at Georgia State. “They continue to drive progress and exemplify the power of collaboration, imagination and hard work.”
