ATLANTA—Georgia State is closely monitoring Hurricane Helene, a strong storm with the potential for significant rainfall with flash flooding as well as wind gusts that have the potential to affect trees and power lines.
Your safety and security are our utmost priority. As such, all Georgia State campuses will move to a digital learning environment Thursday, Sept. 26, and Friday, Sept. 27. This will ensure continuity of learning without compromising safety.
The storm is expected to subside Friday afternoon and all weekend events, including Family Weekend activities and the football game against Georgia Southern at Center Parc Stadium, will be held as planned.
For faculty:
• Shift to digital learning on Thursday and Friday. If you need more information, visit https://cetloe.gsu.edu/digital-learning-at-georgia-state.
• Please be flexible with students during this time.
For staff:
• Employees will either perform their duties remotely or work in-person if they are part of critical operations.
• Supervisors will provide specific details by job type, ensuring flexibility during this period.
For students:
• Ensure you have access to the necessary resources for online instruction.
• Please be safe and remain off the roadways to the greatest extent possible.
For any emergencies on campus, contact the GSU Police at 404-413-3333 or use the GSU LiveSafe app.
The safety and security of the campus community is our primary concern. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and please stay safe.
