ATLANTA, Ga.—Perimeter College at Georgia State University celebrated staff members for their service, contributions and accomplishments during a special recognition ceremony hosted by Dean Barbara Johnson at Center Parc Stadium.
The dean, others from the college leadership team and staffers from Perimeter’s five campuses and online gathered for the third annual Perimeter Staff Day event that featured team-building activities and acknowledgement of award winners.
Six Perimeter employees received top honors as recipients of the 2024 Staff Awards. The following are this year’s winners along with the award categories and descriptions.
Panther Pride Award
Given to Perimeter employees who inspire others with their presence and professionalism, creating an environment where others flourish and thrive.

- Candice Bucklen, administrative assistant, Math, Computer Science and Engineering
- Contessa Paige, administrative specialist, Enrollment Services
Process Innovation Award
Celebrates staff who are perpetual problem solvers that constantly work toward ways to make processes, systems or situations better at Perimeter and Georgia State University.

Rising Panther Award
Recognizes talented staff who are committed to excellence in what they do and filled with determination to seek even greater challenges.

“Congratulations to all of our 2024 staff awards winner,” said Dean Johnson.
“This year’s awardees are problem solvers, innovators and leaders—and also relationship builders and service excellence providers. In other words, they are exceptional team players who recognize that “team work makes the dream work.”
