ATLANTA — Six alumni from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies (AYSPS) were among the 40 remarkable alumni under the age of 40 honored by the Georgia State University Alumni Association during a ceremony held at the Georgia State Convocation Center March 22.
“These exceptional Georgia State alumni are standouts in their respective fields, leaders in their communities and outstanding ambassadors for Georgia State University,” President M. Brian Blake said. “Through their dedication, creativity, innovation and accomplishment, they shine a spotlight on the great potential that’s inside every Panther. Congratulations to this year’s impressive class.”
AYSPS members of the Georgia State University Alumni Association 40 Under 40 Class of 2024 are:
- Andrew Brown (B.S.W. ’11, B.A. ’11, M.P.A. ’14), director of data analytics in the Office of the Inspector General at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
- Biplab Datta (Ph.D. ’17), assistant professor in the Institute of Public and Preventive Health and the Division of Health Economics and Policy at Augusta University.
- Fatoumata Diarrassouba (B.B.A. ’13, M.A. ’16), co-founder and managing partner at Afrik’Energy Connect Inc.
- Grace Hayden MacNaught (B.A. ’15), financial advisor at Atlanta Planning Group.
- Maggie Reeves (M.P.A. ’14), director of Program Development at the Urban Institute, Washington, D.C.
- Ralph Woolfolk IV (M.S. ’20), major and commander of the Violent Crime Interdiction Section, Atlanta Police Department.
“I am inspired by the outstanding contributions of our AYSPS alumni,” said Thomas J. Vicino, dean of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. “As leaders and change makers, their work strengthens communities through policy research, scholarship and engagement with innovative solutions to complex problems.”
First held in 2018, Georgia State’s 40 Under 40 program annually celebrates the most influential and accomplished Georgia State graduates who embody the values of the university.
“Every year, there are more and more dynamic and remarkable Panther leaders, doers, creators and difference makers in every sector,” said Christina Million (MBA ’00), associate vice president of alumni affairs and executive director of the Georgia State Alumni Association. “The 2024 class of 40 Under 40 honorees have distinguished themselves in their professional fields and communities and are an inspiration for Panthers, showing that — with opportunity — there’s no limit to what a Georgia State alumnus can accomplish.”
