ATLANTA—The Georgia State University Alumni Association has named three new members to its Board of Directors and 18 new members to the Young Alumni Council board.
“We are excited to welcome our new alumni volunteers and look forward to the diverse expertise, viewpoints and experiences they will bring to the Alumni Association board,” says Christina Million, executive director of the Georgia State Alumni Association. “Their talent, commitment to the communities they serve and dedication to Georgia State will enhance the Alumni Association's value and advance its role as a bridge between students and Panther professionals and the valuable connections they provide.”
The following alumni joined the 15-person Alumni Association board of directors for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2022:
- Suman Gera (B.B.A. ’82), Managing Director of Acquisitions & Asset Management, Bridge Investment Group
- Denise Kennedy (B.A., ’14, M.A. ’14), Manager, Labor & Productivity, Piedmont Healthcare
- Joel Thibodeaux (M.P.P. ’12), Director of Internal Audits & Compliance, DeKalb County Schools
The Young Alumni Council is a dynamic group of committed professionals, under 40, seeking to deepen alumni affinity with Georgia State through community service, mentorship, networking and more. As a bridge between recent graduates and the university, the council works to ensure that thousands of Georgia State alumni can continuously connect with the alumni community and engage with their alma mater.
The Young Alumni Council will welcome 18 new members to its 30-person board. The new members, who will begin their three-year terms on August 1, include:

- LaTrenda Dumas (B.S. ’11, M.S.H.A. ’20), PAS Transformation Manager, Wellstar Health System
- Bryce Fleming (B.S. ’17), Recruitment Outreach Manager, Democracy Prep Public Schools
- Qazi Haq (B.B.A. ’20), Senior Associate Consultant, EY-Parthenon
