ATLANTA—Georgia State University’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute (ENI) selected alumni from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies (AYSPS) among its diverse group of 15 innovative founders and their companies for the third cohort of its Main Street Entrepreneurs Seed Fund (MSESF).
The entrepreneurs chosen from the AYSPS — and their companies — are:
- Curlnalyzer – Christabel Ghansah (B.S. in Criminal Justice ’14, M.P.A. ’17, MBA ’21)
- The Maxwell Haus Residential Agency and Real Estate Academy – Ambria Hardy (B.S. in Public Policy ’22)
The MSESF is part of Georgia State’s effort to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem of resources to support entrepreneurs and innovators. With an emphasis on fostering inclusive entrepreneurship, the MSESF was created to support underrepresented students, recent alumni and Georgia State community entrepreneurs with seed funding and mentorship to start and grow new ventures.
The entrepreneurs of Cohort 3 will undergo an intense six-month business accelerator program covering topics that include launching a new business, finding product market fit, customer discovery, legal pitfalls and creating loyal customers. They will receive seed funding, targeted workshops, networking opportunities and extensive coaching by an Entrepreneur-in-Residence to help them create and scale their new ventures.
MSESF’s Cohort 3 is supported by donations from The Marcus Foundation, Bank of America and Georgia State alumnus Ahmet Bozer (M.B.I.S. ’83), a retired executive vice president at Coca-Cola.
“The Georgia State entrepreneur community sees unique and abundant opportunities to impact our society as we learn to thrive in this ‘new normal,’” said Jennifer Sherer, ENI’s director. “We received more applications than ever before from Georgia State undergraduate and graduate students, alumni and community members to participate in the Main Street program.”
The Georgia State entrepreneurs selected for the MSESF will pitch their businesses to the Atlanta community at the Main Street Demo Day in October 2022.
