ATLANTA–Georgia State College of Law graduates overcame ongoing challenges from the pandemic to once again earn the overall highest bar passage rate for the February 2021 exam. This is the 6th year the College of Law has ranked highest in the state on the February bar.
The College of Law’s rate was 81.8 percent for first-time test takers and 77.6 percent overall. This puts the College of Law above the state average of 73.5 for first-time test takers and the 46.7 overall pass rate.
This was the second time the bar was administered online to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Interim dean Leslie Wolf says prepping for the bar is difficult enough, before the added stressors of taking it online and other unprecedented circumstances from the pandemic.
“We strive to ensure that our students have the support and training they need to pass the bar regardless of the circumstances,” Wolf said. “To be able to perform so well given all of the challenges our students have faced over the past year is something to truly be proud of.”
A swearing-in virtual ceremony will be held for the newly minted lawyers June 11. The ceremony will be performed by the Honorable Belinda Edwards (J.D. ’90) of the Fulton County Superior Court. A link with more information on the event can be found here.
