Dear university community,
The world looks to the United States of America as a beacon and for leadership in upholding the principles of democracy. Yesterday, our democracy was tested as it has never been tested before, and by this morning the strength of our democracy and the resilience of our Constitution were once again affirmed when the United States Congress certified the results of the 2020 presidential election. Education has always been central in keeping our form of shared governance strong, and so today we recommit ourselves to the important role Georgia State University serves in supporting America’s pursuit of “a more perfect union,” as articulated in The Preamble of the U.S. Constitution.
