ATLANTA—Phil Ventimiglia, Georgia State’s chief innovation officer, has received a 2020 CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Award in the public sector category from GeorgiaCIO.
The ORBIE, the premier technology executive recognition program in the country, honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership.
“It’s an honor to win this award amongst such an amazing field,” Ventimiglia said. “It’s even more special this year for our team to be recognized for their incredible efforts given how critical technology has become to the success of Georgia State and our students.”
GeorgiaCIO is one of 17 chapters of the InspireCIO Leadership Network, a national membership organization composed exclusively of chief information officers from public and private businesses, government, education, healthcare and nonprofit institutions.
“In these uncertain times, CIOs are leading in unprecedented ways and enabling the largest work-from-home experiment in history,” said Karen Wilson, executive director of GeorgiaCIO.
