Casey Viggiano Harris (J.D. '11) has been named a partner at Choate & Company, P.C in Saint Simons Island, Georgia. The firm will now be called Choate Harris, P.C. Harris focuses her practice on business transactions, advising and litigation, as well estate planning and administration. She will receive her Executive LLM in Tax from NYU Law in December.
J. Blake Leadbetter (J.D. '12), a partner at Conoscienti & Ledbetter, a firm that practices both civil and criminal law, was selected as a 2019 SuperLawyers Rising Star in the area of General Civil Litigation. Leadbetter was previously honored with the 2018 SuperLawyers Rising Star award in the practice area of Civil Litigation.
Erin Hames (J.D. '08) is the new headmaster at Heritage Preparatory School in Sandy Springs, Georgia. She served as president of ReformEd, a law and consulting firm focused on improving educational opportunities and outcomes for children and students. Prior to starting ReformEd, Hames served as Governor Nathan Deal’s deputy chief of staff for policy and, prior to that, as Governor Sonny Perdue’s policy director and chief of staff at the Georgia Department of Education.
William Stone III (J.D. '17) has joined Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams & Aughtry. Stone joined the tax controversy practice, which represents taxpayers before federal, state and local taxing authorities. While in school at Georgia State, Stone was a student attorney in the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic.
Jessica Truelove (J.D. '17) has joined Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton as an associate in the firm's Atlanta office. She joins the rapidly growing internationally-recognized trademark and copyright team in the firm's intellectual property department. Truelove spent the past two years as a law clerk for the Hon. Eleanor L. Ross of the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Georgia, where she assisted Judge Ross in a variety of civil and criminal cases. In law school, she served on the editorial board of the Georgia State University Law Review.
