Nia Moore (B.A. ’07) is in her first year at Georgia State as the digital marketing specialist for the Student Center.
What’s a normal day like for you?
Days vary. But I usually bounce between Student Center East and Student Center West going to meetings. Then I spend part of my day updating any one of the five websites I'm responsible for: Student Center, Panther Activities Council, Spotlight, Student Government Association and one more (which I haven't started yet). I also plan social media posts for the Student Center and act as a social media resource for other departments. Lastly, I manage all the content on the digital screens in the Student Center.
What inspired you to come to Georgia State?
I received my undergraduate degree from Georgia State and honestly, I remembered how much fun I had while I was a student here. It just happened that there was an interesting position that I wanted to apply to. I really like being close to the Capitol and the general infrastructure of an urban area.
What are you looking forward to the most this semester?
Doing full-fledged social media campaigns and working with the students.
What are some of your favorite things about Georgia State?
The open nature of the environment the campus offers. I also really like the people here and striking up conversations with as many people as possible. It's nice to learn something different about someone else, while at the same time, discovering how alike we all are.
