The new name for the associate degree program is The Georgia State University School of Nursing Associate Degree Program, Perimeter College.
The change is being made to meet the requirements of the Georgia Board of Nursing.
The associate degree program continues to be housed at the current campus locations, and admissions standards and program costs will remain the same.
Also on July 1, Dr. Ngozi Nkongho joined the School of Nursing faculty as the new associate degree program director. Dr. Nkongho comes to Georgia State from St. Paul’s School of Nursing in Queens, N.Y., where she was dean. She has held academic positions at several colleges and universities and was deputy director for the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) for six years. As associate degree program director, Dr. Nkongho will report to the new Assistant Dean of Nursing, Dr. Joan Cranford, and lead the Clarkston campus nursing education.
More information on these changes will be available soon on the website, nursing.gsu.edu
