
Bio
Dr. Shannon Self-Brown is a child clinical psychologist and a professor in the School of Public Health at Georgia State University. She serves as department chair of Health Policy & Behavioral Sciences and is the co-director of the National SafeCare Training and Research Center (NSTRC). NSTRC is a center housed within the School of Public Health that focuses on the dissemination of SafeCare, an evidence-based parenting program for preventing child physical abuse and neglect. Dr. Self-Brown’s research focuses on child maltreatment prevention, behavioral parenting intervention, youth trauma intervention and implementation science. Her research has been funded by NIH, NCTSN, CDC, PCORI and several foundations.
