Bio
Sarah H. Ledford is an urban water scientist and hydrologist with expertise in how water moves through cities to streams and rivers. She studies how rain falling in cities eventually makes its way to the ocean and how and why urban infrastructure (such as roads, sewers and other human-built infrastructures) can cause issues for humans including flooding and water pollution. She also works with interdisciplinary teams of community members and academics to address water-related environmental justice issues in Atlanta. Her work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, the United States Environmental Protection Agency and others. Her work is published in international journals including the Journal of Hydrology, Science of the Total Environment, Water Resources Research, PLoS One, Urban Ecosystems and more
