Bio
Richard Plemper’s research focuses on developing antiviral therapeutics against airborne RNA viruses of the myxovirus families, including major human pathogens such as influenza virus, respiratory syncytial virus and measles virus. His work seeks to understand how viruses of the myxovirus families cause disease and applies this insight to the development of novel antiviral therapeutics. Plemper’s highly successful research program has developed a fully automated drug discovery facility that carries out major drug screening campaigns.
