American politics, Congress, term limits, elections, pork barrel spending, legislation, lobbyists
Jeffrey Lazarus is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Georgia State University, with research focusing on Congress, and members’ strategic behavior both as candidates and legislators. His research has examined legislative term limits, politicians’ decisions to enter races for office, congressional conference committees, the bills members write, and pork barrel spending. Dr. Lazarus is currently researching how gender influences Congress members’ legislative activity. In a separate project, he is examining members of Congress and staffers who leave Capitol Hill to become lobbyists.
