Bio
At the Georgia Health Policy Center, Debra Kibbe is on faculty for the American Dietetic Association Commission on Dietetic Registration’s certificate program on childhood and adolescent weight management, and she advises the Center Helping Obesity in Children End Successfully. She was a member of the education subcommittee of the U.S. National Physical Activity Plan that created the Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program framework. Kibbe was presented the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition’s 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award; one of five in the country to receive the award. Kibbe provides school technical assistance and evaluation for the Georgia Shape statewide childhood obesity initiative, conducting community health needs assessments, and providing evaluations for federally funded projects in communities and schools focused on chronic disease prevention as well as physical activity and nutrition behavior.
