Shannon Self-Brown is a child clinical psychologist and co-director of the National SafeCare Training and Research Center in the School of Public Health that focuses on the dissemination of SafeCare, a parenting program for preventing child physical abuse and neglect. Self-Brown has written more than 70 peer-reviewed articles focusing on the impact of youth violence, trauma and disaster exposure on youth mental health, as well as the implementation of behavioral parenting programs and mental health practices for traumatized youth.
