Welcome Back, Panthers!
A new semester brings fresh opportunities to achieve academic success. Georgia State is excited to welcome back all of our new and returning students for the upcoming spring 2019 semester. Review the check list below to make sure you're ready for school.
1. Finalize your class schedule. Order books for your classes.
Classes begin Jan. 14 and late registration ends Jan. 18. You can purchase or rent books for your classes at the Georgia State University Bookstore.
2. Late registration tuition payment is due by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18.
Log in to PAWS to review your financial aid package, accept or decline awards, and pay your balance.
3. Get your PantherCard if you haven’t already.
As your official Georgia State identification, PantherCard is your passport on campus — your access card to the library, campus facilities, meal plans and more. To get yours, bring your government-issued ID to the PantherCard Office (University Bookstore Building, Suite 200).
4. Sign up for PantherAlert. Download the LiveSafe app.
PantherAlert sends out critical safety information about inclement weather and campus safety emergencies through email, text messages, phone calls and social media. LiveSafe allows students to request safety escorts, report crime tips and more.
5. Pick up a new MARTA pass or a parking permit.
As a Georgia State student, you can get a discounted ($61) monthly MARTA pass through Campus Services. If you’re planning on driving to campus, get a parking permit through ParkingWeb.
6. Join student organizations.
