ATLANTA — Georgia State University’s seventh annual day of giving in support of creating meaningful opportunities for its students and celebrating their pursuits, Georgia State Day 2025, kicks off Wednesday, April 2.
During the event’s one-day, nine-hour and 13-minute duration — chosen to honor the university’s founding year of 1913 — thousands of alumni, students, faculty, staff and supporters donate to programs throughout Georgia State to advance the university’s mission, boost opportunities and celebrate Panthers’ ambitions and achievements.
“Georgia State Day celebrates our students’ unlimited potential and the remarkable things they accomplish when they get the support they need, while uniting alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends around our common goal of uplifting and inspiring Panthers,” said Cheryl Harrelson, vice president for university advancement and president of the Georgia State University Foundation.
“Each gift on Georgia State Day provides students with something meaningful, with an impact that lasts beyond the event itself. Whether you give to scholarships that ease their financial burden, support programs that foster discovery and career readiness or contribute to the area of the university closest to your heart, you’ll show students just how many of us believe in their ambitions, goals and dreams.”
This year’s Georgia State Day will again feature a vibrant and activity-filled on-campus event where students and members of the Georgia State community can meaningfully engage with the generous individuals who help fuel the programs that enrich the university’s academics, student support services, classroom instruction and career-building offerings, and create life-changing opportunity for students.
Each year, volunteers serving as ambassadors, known as Georgia State Day Champions, play a vital role in generating engagement with and participation on Georgia State Day.
