ATLANTA — In its 2025 edition of Best Online Bachelor’s Programs, U.S. News & World Report ranked Georgia State’s online bachelor’s in psychology No. 6 and the online Bachelor of Business Administration No. 8 in the nation.
This is the first year both programs have been ranked by the organization, which chose factors that weigh how online programs are delivered and their effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable amount of time to all types of students.
In addition, several of Georgia State’s online graduate programs showed strong progress in the latest rankings, reflecting the university’s dedication to expanding access and enhancing quality across disciplines. Notable gains were made by the online master’s in education and online master’s in nursing programs, both advancing significantly, while the online master’s in criminal justice program maintained its strong national standing. These advancements are a result of Georgia State’s ongoing efforts to deliver exceptional online graduate education tailored to the needs of diverse learners.
“These rankings highlight Georgia State’s commitment to providing high-quality, accessible education that meets the needs of our students," said Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Nicolle Parsons-Pollard. “Our online programs are designed with innovation, flexibility and student success at the forefront, ensuring that learners can achieve their academic and career goals no matter where they are.”
U.S. News assessed schools based on four categories: Engagement, Services and Technologies, Faculty Credentials and Training, and Peer Assessment.
For five years in a row, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Georgia State the No. 1 public university for undergraduate teaching, and Georgia State’s online degrees provide the same outcomes and are taught by the same faculty who teach on campus. The university offers 85-plus online and hybrid options at all academic levels, from associate to doctoral degrees.
Georgia State’s online offerings have seen substantial growth in enrollments over the past three years, nearly tripling as the university continues to expand access to flexible, high-quality education.
