I started my Master of Business Administration in 2022, focusing on operations management, to advance my career. I also took entrepreneurial courses, but my concentration was in operations management. The location of the Robinson College of Business in Buckhead was another factor, as it aligned with my office location. Overall, it was a great fit for me.
How did earning an MBA from the Robinson College set you up for success?
My MBA experience at the Robinson College was incredibly enriching. The program offered various subjects with a comprehensive curriculum that deepened my understanding of business concepts and provided practical insights through case studies and experiential learning opportunities. The faculty members were highly knowledgeable and supportive, fostering an environment conducive to intellectual growth and collaboration. Additionally, the diverse cohort of classmates brought a wealth of perspectives and experiences, enhancing the learning environment through lively discussions and group projects. Overall, my time at the Robinson College equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the dynamic world of business.
What motivated you to pursue a Doctor of Business Administration?
The decision to pursue a Doctor of Business Administration stemmed from my desire to bridge the gap between technical acumen and the strategic imperatives driving organizational success. Unlike traditional business degrees, a DBA program offers a unique blend of academic rigor and practical application, making it the perfect program for honing my leadership skills and strategic mindset. This program complements my engineering background by providing a deeper understanding of organizational dynamics, research, strategic management and leadership principles. This interdisciplinary approach will equip me with the skills to navigate complex business environments and drive impactful change within the transportation sector.
Can you describe your experience in transportation infrastructure projects?
My experience with transportation infrastructure spans across various projects, both domestically and internationally, allowing me to tackle diverse challenges. From the highways of Atlanta to the infrastructure projects related to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, I have honed my skills in managing projects across borders and delivering results that meet international standards.
What are some of the key contributions you have made to major transportation projects?
Throughout my career, I have focused on designing highways, enhancing traffic mobility and creating interconnected transportation networks. Notable contributions include my involvement in the Major Mobility Investment Program in Georgia and the modernization of urban highway networks related to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. These projects have aimed to alleviate congestion, improve safety and enhance community accessibility.
What advice would you give to others pursuing advanced degrees?
Stay focused, learn from failure and practice empathy. Embrace kindness, chase your passion and adapt to life’s changes. And always remember, never give up!
