ATLANTA—Two of Georgia State’s degree-granting, distance-education graduate programs have been ranked among the best online programs in the country by U.S. News and World Report.
The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies’ online Master’s in Criminal Justice program ranked No. 37, which places it in the top 20 percent of programs surveyed. The College of Education & Human Development’s online Master’s in Education Program ranked No. 73, in the top 40 percent of programs surveyed.
Georgia State’s online programs are among more than 1,800 programs surveyed by U.S. News
For the 2024 edition of the Best Online Programs rankings, U.S. News evaluated master's degree programs using five categories: engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer assessment, services and technologies, and student excellence. This is the 12th year that U.S. News has evaluated the online rankings.
Georgia State was also recently highlighted on Newsweek’s 2024 list of America’s Top Online Colleges. Listed among 200 recognized institutions, Georgia State earned a four-star rating for its comprehensive online degree programs and specialized professional development courses.
The Criminal Justice program recently expanded its online offerings: Crime Scene Investigation, Cybercrime Investigations and Technology in Criminal Justice — courses specifically designed for the Bachelor of Science in Criminology and the Digital Criminology minor — are now offered online and can be used as upper-level electives by students in any degree program.
