Each year, students throughout the School of Music audition and compete for a spot on the highly coveted Honors Recital which took place on March 9 at the Kopleff Recital Hall. The recital represents years of training, hours of preparation on literature being performed, and rounds of auditions. The full-house audience gathered to celebrate the school’s masterful students and the brilliant instruction provided by their faculty.
“Congratulations to the extraordinary talents showcased at this year’s School of Music Honors Recital,” said Dr Chester Phillips, Director at the School of Music and Interim Dean at the College of the Arts. “It was so exciting to see everyone assemble for one of many opportunities to celebrate music and strengthen the bonds across all areas of the school.”
The Dean’s Award, which includes a $500 cash prize, was presented to the most outstanding winner, undergraduate clarinet performance major Jack Lloyd.
