Dear colleagues,
Over the last two years in my role as Vice President for Research and Economic Development, I have come to the realization that research here at Georgia State holds far greater meaning than one might imagine. It is a wonderful amalgamation of creativity, scholarship, and innovation that traverses the entire university. Contributions come from all locations, from our Perimeter College campuses to downtown. Important advances are made day and night thanks to the work of students, staff, and faculty in every discipline. Engagements with community partners near and far have driven our progress even further. Most importantly, this all coalesces into real-life impact that has a positive influence on our world.
The remarkable results of investing in our ideas, our programs, and our people have never been more clear than this past year, as this research community took record-setting support and – through hard work and creativity – delivered notable and meaningful progress. I am honored to count myself as part of this team.
As we wind down the year and look forward to spending time with loved ones, please know that your dedication to creativity, scholarship, and research at Georgia State is so greatly valued. I look forward to breaking new boundaries together in 2023.
