Please welcome Catherine Shaw as assistant director of special events at the Robinson College. Shaw is a certified meeting professional with more than 15 years of experience managing high-end meetings, conferences, and events. She joined the Robinson College in July.
In this leadership role, Shaw will develop, manage, and execute all virtual and in-person events for the college, including administrative units such as development, recruitment, and student experience; academic departments; graduation; and high-profile events for donors, the board of directors, and alumni.
Additionally, as part of Robinson’s Accelerate 2025 strategic plan, Shaw will oversee an inaugural effort to create branded podcast capabilities and events centered on core themes such as DEI and innovation that highlight Robinson research, student talent and capabilities, alumni success and outcomes, and innovations that bridge the gap between business and education.
Previously, Shaw was program and conference director at the Institute of Electrical Engineers. Her experience also includes marketing, communication, and event management roles at American Express Global Travel, Georgia Institute of Technology, and JPMorgan Chase.
Shaw is a graduate of Rutgers University and holds a B.A. in Communications and Journalism. She also has a project management certificate from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a certificate in marketing and advertising from New York University.
