ATLANTA – Faculty members at Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business are among the world’s most cited business researchers in their respective fields, according to an analysis conducted by Stanford University’s Meta-Research Innovation Center and published in PLOS Biology in 2020.
Using six standard citation metrics covering 1996-2019 and starting from a pool of nearly eight million researchers across 176 different fields, the authors developed a composite citation index, from which they identified the top 100,000 scientists worldwide. Fifteen Robinson researchers specializing in in business and management, economics, information systems, marketing, and operations are among these elite scholars.
“Robinson is Georgia’s highest ranked business school for research productivity and among the highest in the Southeast,” said Richard Phillips, dean of the Robinson College. “Leadership by these scholars and their colleagues is a major reason we are renowned for our research and for supplying the next generation of researchers for academia, think tanks, and governments around the world. Congratulations to our scholars who earned a spot on the list.”
