Rachel Moten, M.S. in Marketing
CEO, creative director and designer, Refined Trends by Rachel Moten LLC
Why did you choose Robinson for your graduate education?
I was overwhelmingly impressed with Robinson because of its diverse population, one-year curriculum, affordable tuition, alumni success, and high recognition.
How will the degree propel your career goals?
I plan to develop new analytical skills, allowing myself to capture the value from innovation within rapidly changing environments. My goal is to become a corporate social media analyst and creative director/designer in the fashion industry.
What unique background and perspectives will you bring to classroom discussions?
For two consecutive summers, I interned with the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, Marketing/Public Information/Public Relations Division. My responsibilities included administration, analytics, and social media marketing. Working alongside celebrities and government officials, I gained skills and field experiences I will bring to classroom discussions.
What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
During my freshman year of undergraduate school, I received my first and only "B." I regret not challenging the undeserved letter grade, resulting in completing college as salutatorian rather than valedictorian. However, I’m humbly grateful for graduating summa cum laude!
