Despelado Alexandre, is a freshman, first-generation college student and a Georgia State football player.
What position do you play?
I play on the offensive line. I like to be in control, and as offensive linemen, we can control how long the play lasts and if we gain or lose yardage. It's five people working together, in control.
What’s your major?
My major is criminal justice. I want to be a federal agent or U.S. Marshal.
What inspired you to come to Georgia State?
You get a great education here. You're in Atlanta, and that gives you a doorway to a lot of great opportunities. As far as football, I chose Georgia State because I like the direction the program is going. Coach [Shawn] Elliott came in here and put the program on the right path, and I like being a part of that.
What are you looking forward to this semester/season?
Just doing the best I can in the classroom and on the football field.
What are some of your favorite things about Georgia State?
I love the football team. I love the people I'm around — the players, the coaching staff, the weight room staff. They’re all great people. I love the stadium, and I can't wait to fill it up and play games there. One thing that I love about the school is that it’s very diverse. You meet a lot of different people, and you won't see the same face twice.
