For Kylie Ruffule, graduation means the end of a life-changing experience at Georgia State.
“Being a student and an athlete at Georgia State has meant the world to me,” she said. “I couldn’t have asked for a better four-year experience.”
The criminal justice major and Honors College student was a star soccer player, and played in every match during her career. As a senior, the midfielder was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Division I Women’s Soccer Team.
Ruffle was also a walk-on softball player and was president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
“The best part of being a student-athlete was being able to play the sport I love, while having the opportunity to make lifelong friendships with my teammates and other athletes,” she said. “It was a privilege to be able to lead Georgia State’s student athlete body.”
Ruffule finished her academic career on top. She is the winner of the Kell Award, which acknowledges the graduating senior with the highest scholastic average for all coursework taken at Georgia State.
Following in the footsteps of her father, she’s planning to pursue a career in federal law enforcement. She came to Georgia State with the dream of becoming a federal agent and her criminology coursework solidified that.
“My social science and the American crime problem class was especially inspiring,” she said. “After taking it, I knew I wanted to make a positive change in the community.”
