Music major Connor McMillan has found his rhythm at Georgia State. His research focuses on how the culture of West African drumming is reflected in dance, communication and poetry. Connor explores topics such as the structure of Yoruba, an African language, and how it’s mimicked in the tempo of drumming.

Noa Erlitzki contributes to research on the role of water in mediating protein-DNA and compound-DNA binding interactions. Noa’s work, which includes a first-author manuscript on the topic, earned her recognition as a Barry M. Goldwater Scholar in 2017. She intends to pursue a Ph.D. in biophysical chemistry. -

Pranathi Venigandla, a computer science major, is fascinated by robotics and artificial intelligence. Her research revolves around a Remotely Operated Vehicle robot, which enables underwater exploration. As the lead director of hackGSU and a member of Girls++, Pranathi is determined to expand women’s place in the technology space.
