Jessica Turner, professor of psychology, has won the Outstanding Faculty Achievement Award for 2018.
Turner was nominated based on her outstanding record of scholarly accomplishments, her dedication to excellence in instruction and learning, and her contribution to service that goes above and beyond what is expected.
“Dr. Turner has also shown outstanding commitment to mentoring students outside of the classroom. At Georgia State, she has supervised four undergraduate honors theses, plus has had a number of undergraduate students receive research practicum course credit for work in her lab. She has six graduate student Ph.D. advisees, and has supervised two postdoctoral fellows and a visiting scholar from the Netherlands,” said Chris Henrich, chair of the Department of Psychology.
She will receive a stipend and be recognized at this year’s Celebrating Faculty Excellence reception on May 8.
