Denisa Reed, Associate Director of the Office of Academic Assistance, says she looks forward to opportunities to collaborate with others to ensure the success of the School of Public Health.
When did you join the School of Public Health, and what do you enjoy about working here?
It's with great excitement that I joined the School of Public Health in January 2024. This esteemed institution has been a beacon of excellence in my career. My 21-year tenure at GSU, in various departments and roles, has laid a strong foundation for my current position as an Associate Director. Here, I oversee multiple aspects, including scheduling and admissions, with a deep sense of commitment and enthusiasm.
While new to the school, I have enjoyed working with everyone.
What's a typical workday for you like?
A typical day for me is ensuring my 13-year-old school gets off to school on time, and after fighting traffic, I mentally begin to prepare for my workday by creating a to-do list. After checking emails and updating schedule requests, I analyze what other pressing tasks I must accomplish by the end of the day or week.
What about your work are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my professional accomplishments throughout my time at GSU. While I have not worked long in the school, I look forward to new opportunities and collaborating with others to ensure its success.
What do you enjoy doing when you're not at work?
Although family life, work and school take up most of my time. I enjoy shopping, home decorating and reading a good romance novel on occasion.
