Georgia State University Alumnus Commended as USAID Mission Director

Jonathan Martin, Leading a Thriving Symphony Orchestra

While orchestras around the country are reeling from tumultuous labor disputes and budget cuts, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra is thriving under the leadership of President and CEO Jonathan Martin (B.Mu. ’81).

Martin, whose career in arts administration began with his hometown ensemble, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, assumed leadership of the DSO in fall 2012.

Georgia State Grad Produces Another Winning Documentary

A short seven years after graduating from Georgia State, Mark Mori (B.A.’82) co-produced and co-directed his first documentary film, “Building Bombs.” Nominated for an Academy Award, the documentary put a spotlight on a nuclear weapons factory that contaminated aquifers in four states with radioactive waste.
