ATLANTA–Georgia State University, the University System of Georgia and Corvias Campus Living today marked the opening of a new student housing and dining hall complex in downtown Atlanta.
The residence hall, called Piedmont Central, is at the intersection of Piedmont Avenue and John Wesley Dobbs Avenue and adds 1,152 beds to Georgia State’s campus. The facility features modern social spaces, a large dining hall and a courtyard in the back of the building.
It is the first student housing facility at Georgia State to be built and operated under a new public-private partnership between the University System of Georgia and Corvias Campus Living.
This is a special day in the history of Georgia State,” said university President Mark Becker. “We got here with lots of work from tremendous partners at the Board of Regents and Corvias.”
Becker said the building will open at full occupancy.
