Mathematics professor Dr. John Weber led a team of Perimeter College engineering students in the national Community College Innovation Challenge this summer in Washington, D.C. Perimeter students Travis Crawford, Vatis Fongang, Atsou Koudonou, Mahetem Moges and Brian Mull submitted their idea for the innovation challenge. The team won the “People’s Choice” award for their “Roomba”-style vacuum that cleans algae from waterways. The National Science Foundation designed the challenge in partnership with the American Association of Community Colleges to promote ways to improve natural resource sustainability.
